About Karl:  Karl Wenzel is a licensed embalmer in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia who specializes in assisting funeral homes across Canada in the preparation and reconstruction of trauma victims.

Karl is a graduate of Jefferson State College in Birmingham Alabama.  Working in the United States for over 6 years Karl returned to Canada after managing a funeral home in middle Tennessee to be closer to his family.  After returning to Canada he continued his learning by following his mentor in the area of advanced post mortem reconstruction.

In May 2007 Karl was asked by the Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming skills, specializing in reconstructive surgical techniques to be their Canadian National Ambassador.

Karl continues his involvement in the profession by also being the Canadian Ambassador for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice as well as a Board of Director for the American Society of Embalmers with Robert Mayer.

In 2010 Karl was asked to be on the education committee for the Funeral Service Association of Canada, and is currently developing FSAC’s first on line embalming program.

In 2011 Karl was asked to contribute to the new 5th edition text book of Embalming History, Theory, and Practices by Robert Mayer.

His ability, philosophy and techniques have opened the eyes of funeral directors and embalmers across North America making him one of the most sought after speakers of technical skills today.

Karl lectures nationally and internationally on several different topics relating to embalming and the value of viewing.
