WHO ARE WE?

Established in 1912, the Funeral Service Association of B.C. was formed by a group of concerned funeral directors whose purpose was to assist the funeral profession attain the highest possible standards of ethics, service and proficiency.

  • The FSABC liaises with government representatives to voice your concerns with respect to legislation, regulations and policies.
  • A reputation for public trust, professionalism and co-operation.

WE SERVE THE COMMUNITY …

  • Province-wide toll-free line for information and referral.
  • A major source of information for the public on death and bereavement.

  • Extensive resource materials including brochures, professional development seminars and workshops, monthly newsletter
  • Legislative alerts and updates.
  • Ongoing continuing education programs for funeral service professionals.
  • Annual conference and seminars.
  • Committed to listening to a variety of viewpoints and to building consensus within the funeral service profession.
  • Only recognized provider of Funeral Service Apprenticeship Training for British Columbia.

Educational Seminars
The Association researches the educational needs of members and develops programs on topics which are presented to members through seminars and conferences.

Fellowship Programs
Social functions, including an annual golf tournament and spring business conference which are designed to offer members the maximum opportunity to meet and network.

Special Committees
Specialized committees have been formed to give concentrated effort to solve problems in areas of specific member interest with the funeral profession as a whole.

Each of us are separate and distinct from the other – but we all share a common purpose.
The strength of our Association lies in the commitment of our members to work together to secure the long term viability of the funeral profession.
