British Columbia’s Proposed New HST DEATH TAX
On July 1, 2010, the Provincial Government will be imposing a new DEATH TAX on all cremation, funeral and cemetery products and services.

Why is government taxing the bereaved?
The Funeral Service Association of British Columbia (FSABC) is asking the BC Government to introduce a BC tax credit. This tax credit would help offset the 7% tax that the government plans to add to funeral costs, and would be applied against the final tax return of the deceased.
